SUMMARY 

As an Assistant Facility Manager, you will help organize, schedule, and provide direct daily support to the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center. In this role, you will assist the Aquatic Facility Director in ensuring that team members can effectively prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies, as well as effectively enforce facility policies with a focus on stellar customer service. You will be a senior point of contact in escalated situations and will be responsible for reporting to the Aquatic Facility Director with operations updates in their absence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES 

  • Complete projects and tasks assigned by the Aquatic Facility Director by set deadlines 
  • Maintain a prompt and reliable line of communication with the Aquatic Facility Director
  • Consult with the Aquatic Facility Director and request approval for anything that may majorly impact the facility, the facilities operations, or relations with the facilities contractors 
  • Assist in managing scheduling for the facility
  • Partner with Training and Quality Assurance Manager to ensure consistency of region In-Service program 
  • Serve as the point of contact/escalation for all team members in the absence of the Aquatic Facility Director 
  • Assist in managing day-to-day operations of facility
  • Assist the in managing and ensure consistency of employee disciplinary process, including timely resolution and documentation 
  • Submit monthly expense reports as required 
  • Assist in updating Premier Aquatics Employee and Manager Portals with operating information 
  • Assist in facilitation of Employee Orientation on a substitute or as-needed basis 
  • Expectations as outlined may differ according to the seasonal needs of the business (peak season/off season) 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 

Minimum 

  • High school Diploma or equivalent required 
  • Work a minimum of 1 day a week and have 1 day of weekend availability 
  • Must possess (or be able to obtain within first ninety days of employment) required certifications through StarGuard Elite (lifeguard training, CPR, AED, and first aid), including Lifeguard Instructor Certification 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with no accidents or violations in the previous 3 years 

Preferred 

  • Possess or in the process of receiving a bachelor's degree or equivalent 
  • Three to five years relevant experience in the Lifeguard Services industry preferred 
  • Have a current StarGuard Elite Lifeguard Instructor certification 

Physical 

  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job and to move or lift up to 50 pounds 
  • Must be physically able to rescue someone drowning or injured in the water 
  • Exposed to prolonged periods of being outdoors
